September blog matsuri announcement

With only a 1/3 of the month left you may think I had forgotten about the September blog matsuri. So without further ado here's the topic: learning in Japan - English teacher tales; critique of the Japanese education system; stories of personal growth in Japan; tales of your own learning in Japan; or anything that contains the themes of learning and Japan.
Like Gakuranman's matsuri I encourage concise entries. Although for the wordsmiths that absolutely don't want to take a samurai sword to a lovely 2000 word post, don't worry. I won't discriminate.
Props to Jamie for hosting the August matsuri over at the Frugalista. If like me you're hosting a blog in the future but don't really know what to do, check out Nick's FAQ.
To submit a post to this month's matsuri learning in Japan simply leave a comment on this post including the name you want published with the post, the name of your blog, the post title and post URL. Or you can submit via the blog carnival website.
I propose to publish this month's matsuri on the 30th. Please try to get your entries in by the 28th. Godspeed.

Here's my entry:

For foreigners in Japan, knowledge of hiragana and katakana is essential, but here are some lesser-known and more tricky katakana words.
Sorry man, I dont think I'm gonna make it this month. I just spent an hour writing a long and vicious article on some of the idiots that come on JET, but then I deleted it all. I think after 6 years of spending time in the teaching system here, I'm just too jaded and have nothing but nasty things to say about the whole damn japanese educational system... I know you mentioned critiques are ok too, but I just didnt feel right about it. It's all been said before anyway and I'm done with being negative. Didnt want to ruin it for everyone! Hope you got some nice positive stories ;)
